SIP stack integration into the Disko Framework

Description

The goal of this project is to implement a sip stack into the Disko Framework. In the future it shall be possible to have access to different sip-stacks by using the Disko abstraction.

While attending the A1 Innovation Days, we are implementing the PJSip-Stack.

Disko is designed for easy developing of media-centric applications on embedded devices and this project helps bringing SIP onto them.

Outcomes of Sprint

What has been created by us?

  • We wrote an extension for the Disko framework to be able to connect a SIP stack.
  • Furthermore we wrote a little soft-phone based on Disko-plugins.

What success has been reached?

  • We achieved our goal. We successfully made and received a call on the Neuros board (Hardware Spec).

Further experiences made

  • The existing OS SIP stacks don't seem to be the end of the line. Establishing the connection to one of the various providers required significantly more effort, than expected.
  • Intensive work off the everyday surroundings and the additional potentials released this way, was another interesting experience we made.
